About the Women's Fellowship

The Women's Fellowship is the sisterhood of women at Presbyterian Church Of Ghana, Covenant Congregation, Dzorwulu — a place of warmth, encouragement, and spiritual growth. We are wives, mothers, daughters, professionals, and ministers who come together to strengthen one another in faith and love. Through Bible study, prayer, outreach, vocational training, and fellowship, we empower women to fulfil their God-given potential in the home, church, and society.

Brief History

The Women's Fellowship traces its origins to missionary wives who gathered local women to teach handicrafts, knitting, and Bible verses, with early centres in Akropong, Aburi, Odumasi, Agogo, Abetifi, and Awisa. By 1930, trained leaders led women's classes across congregations, and in 1937 missionaries founded Krobo Girls School to further educate and support church women. The formal structure emerged in 1942, when Rt. Rev. S. S. Odonkor returned from overseas and advocated for unified women's involvement — leading to the church-wide Women's Work Central Committee, which later evolved into today's Committee on Women's Ministry. Women's work in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana now spans well over a century.
